Billing
Manage your organization's plan, view usage, and update your subscription.
Billing is managed at the organization level. Workspace admins can view the current plan, see usage against plan limits, and upgrade or change the subscription.
Accessing billing
Open Settings from the sidebar. In the left navigation, click Billing (located in the workspace settings section).
Billing settings require admin access. Non-admin members see a locked view.
Available plans
Clave offers three plans:
Free
$0 — forever
The Free plan gives you the core Clave experience with the following limits:
- A set number of workspace members
- A set number of workspaces
- A set amount of file storage
- A monthly AI message quota
Free is ideal for small teams evaluating Clave or working on early-stage projects.
Pro
$12 per member per month
The Pro plan unlocks the full Clave feature set including:
- More workspace members and workspaces
- Higher file storage quota
- Higher monthly AI message quota
- Projects, documents, and whiteboards
Enterprise
Custom pricing
The Enterprise plan includes everything in Pro plus priority support, SSO, audit log, dedicated support, and custom integrations. Contact us to discuss pricing.
Viewing your current plan
The billing page shows your organization's active plan in the header. The plan badge indicates whether you're on Free, Pro, or Enterprise, and the subscription status badge shows whether the subscription is Active, Trialing, or Past due.
Viewing usage
Below the plan cards, the usage summary shows how much of each plan limit you're currently using:
- Members — current active member count vs. your plan's maximum
- Workspaces — current workspace count vs. your plan's maximum
- Storage — used file storage vs. your plan's limit
- AI messages — AI messages used this billing period vs. your monthly limit
Usage bars update in real-time as your team grows.
Upgrading your plan
To upgrade from Free to Pro:
- Click Upgrade on the Pro plan card.
- You'll be taken to a secure Stripe checkout page.
- Enter your payment details and complete the purchase.
- Your organization's plan is upgraded immediately after payment.
Managing your subscription
If you're already on a paid plan, click Manage subscription to open the Stripe customer portal. From the portal you can:
- Update your payment method
- Download invoices and receipts
- Cancel your subscription
- View billing history
Changes made in the Stripe portal take effect on your next billing cycle.
Plan limit warnings
If your team approaches or exceeds a plan limit, Clave displays a warning prompt. When a hard limit is hit (for example, the AI message cap), the relevant feature pauses until the next billing period or until you upgrade.
