Account settings

Update your personal information, appearance preferences, and notification delivery.

Account settings control how Clave looks and feels for you personally. Changes here only affect your experience — they don't change anything for other team members.

Accessing account settings

Open Settings from the left sidebar (or press G then S). Under the Personal section, click Account.

Profile information

Profile photo

Your profile photo appears throughout Clave — in issue assignee lists, comments, the notification feed, and team member lists.

To change your photo:

  1. Click Change photo.
  2. Select an image file (any image format, up to 2 MB).
  3. Adjust the crop area and confirm.

The photo is uploaded and saved automatically after cropping.

If you haven't uploaded a photo yet, you'll see a prompt in a warning bar at the top of the Account settings page — uploading a photo helps teammates recognize you.

Full name

Your display name across Clave. Click the field, edit your name, then click outside to save. The name must be at least 2 characters.

Email address

Your sign-in address. This is set by your Google account and shown here for reference. It cannot be edited from within Clave.

Job title

An optional label that appears on your profile, for example "Designer" or "Engineer". Click the field, edit it, then click outside to save. Maximum 100 characters.

Appearance

Theme

Choose how Clave looks:

  • System default — automatically matches your operating system's light or dark mode setting.
  • Light — always use the light theme.
  • Dark — always use the dark theme.

Changes take effect immediately.

Compact mode

Toggle compact mode on to use a denser layout with less spacing throughout the app. Useful on smaller screens or if you prefer more content visible at once.

When enabled, Clave starts with the left sidebar collapsed every time you load the app. The sidebar can still be expanded by clicking the sidebar trigger or pressing Cmd+B.

Location and time

Timezone

Your timezone is used to display dates and times correctly throughout Clave — due dates, notification timestamps, and scheduled reminders all respect this setting.

Select your timezone from the dropdown. The list uses IANA timezone names (for example, "America/New_York"). Changes save immediately.

Authentication

User ID

A read-only identifier for your account. Click Copy if you need to share it with support. This ID is unique to your user account across all workspaces.
